Tiger Woods is an American professional golfer with many trophies and awards to his name, the most significant being elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Woods’ Childhood
Tiger Woods was fond of golf as a toddler of age ten months. He usually accompanied his father, Earl, Woods's first teacher, and his love for the sport. At only two years of age, he made an appearance on the legendary comedian Bob Hope’s show, where he displayed immense potential. It soon became evident that he would be the next golf superstar after winning a competition for children under 10.

Woods Dominating the Golf World
It didn’t take him long to make himself known in the golf community. His career shot to the sky when he became a professional golfer at the age of 20 in 1996, and the next year, he was scoring a spot as number 1 when it comes to world rankings. At the age of 21, he became the youngest winner of the tournament and made history for being the first person of color to be crowned champion. He has the record of being the top-ranked golfer from August of 1999 to September of 2004 – meaning Woods was ranked top golfer for 264 consecutive weeks! And that’s not all. He continued another streak from June 2005 to October 2010, beating his own previous record with 281 consecutive weeks.

Woods Losing His Touch
People tend to put stars on a high pedestal, and when they make one mistake, they are heavily criticized by audiences all over the world – that’s exactly what happened to Woods. At the peak of his career, he found himself in a dangerous situation where his car had collided with a fire hydrant, thereby ramming the car into a tree. A few days later, a story surfaced that stated that the Golf-King was involved in an extra-marital affair and was cheating on then-wife. Though he and Elin eventually got divorced, he checked into rehab and took a break from golf.
